FH Celebrates 29th Anniversary

We’re one year shy of the big 3-0, but this a milestone worth embracing. Since 1983, we’ve served more than 500 clients, trained more than 200 student interns and employed nearly 100 talented professionals. From typewriters, postal mail, analog tape and a 24-hour news cycle, to immediate delivery and access to media via online and social-media channels — We’ve certainly experienced big change. But we ultimately provide the same services and counsel as we did 30 years ago. The practice of understanding consumer attitudes, developing effective strategies, creating engaging messages and launching audience-targeted campaigns has not changed. Success in business communications remains the successful development of forging relationships and people connecting with people.

Scioto Downs Support

Scioto Downs LogoThe debut of Ohio’s first-to-market and only boutique gaming venue requires a significant awareness and positioning campaign to introduce and define it within its marketplace and for its audiences. We’re using strategic communications activities — driven by data gathered from focus groups — including aggressive media and community-relations and social-media and thought-leader outreach, to share information with statewide “influentials” and central and statewide Ohioans. We’re also assisting with its highly anticipated mid-June ribbon cutting and July grand opening. Learn more about Scioto Downs here.

Columbus Historical Society

Columbus Historical Society LogoColumbus Historical Society (CHS) provides free public programs, off-site exhibits, publications, elementary and adult education and a signature bus-tour series to educate visitors about historic central Ohio. As FrazierHeiby’s pro bono client for 2012, we’ll provide CHS with media-relations assistance, as well as marketing and social-media counsel to increase awareness of and attendance at its annual Fall Gala and routine bus tours. Visit columbushistory.org to learn more about CHS.

Fun with FH

Staff Question: What’s your favorite sound?

Tom Heiby, CEO: Birds chirping during early bright sunrise, the exhale of bubbles during a dive and the "pop" of the cork when opening a fine wine.

Doug Frazier, CCO: I love lots of sounds, but my favorite is the sound of water such as a rippling stream, a spring rain shower or ocean waves hitting the beach.

Denise Clark, director of client services: That depends on my mood. Birds chirping early on a Saturday morning is a great way to start the day. However, if I really need to get energized (and I use sound to do so) it is usually Rob Zombie!

Kathleen Anthony, account supervisor: The sound of Annabel (daughter) giggling.

Andrea Bils, account executive: The “pop” and “fizz” when opening a soda can…Wind chimes.

Michelle Leitzy, account executive: Waves crashing on the beach — I think it's time for a vacation!

Michael Iles, senior graphic designer: My children yelling "Daddy's home!" when I walk in the front door after work...

Wesleigh Mowry, graphic designer: A steady rain on a tin roof during a thunderstorm.

Brenda Smith, accounts administrator: The sound of children playing in the fall leaves, but not the ones I just raked!
