Clary advances Ohio agriculture
PowerPoint SlideClary President and CEO Tom Heiby communicated the value of the state’s agriculture industry at the Northeast Agribusiness Forum in March. Agriculture is a hot topic in the news today. From articles about why GMO foods are bad for your health, to the dangers of factory farming, the agriculture industry is too often painted in a very negative light. Tom’s presentation addressed the positive roles that the ag industry has on society as an economic contributor, environmental guardian, and as a food, feed and fuel-source provider.

Clary associates gear-up for get-a-ways
As summer approaches, Clary staff members are looking forward to a variety of warm-weather vacations. Read about their get-a-ways.

Tom Heiby, president & CEO: Perhaps I’ll take a dive trip to Bonaire. I’m also hoping to spend some time with my grandchildren — at the Columbus Zoo of course! Maybe I’ll just hang out at home a few days and read a book (Yeah, that’ll happen...).

Sandy Clary, partner & founder: Central Ohio is magical in spring, summer and fall.  Why go anywhere when the weather is so nice here and there is so much to do? When we do travel away, it’s to visit friends and family in New York City and around Lake Erie.

Doug Frazier, CCO: Most summers, we sneak away to enjoy coastal Maine. We’re hoping to visit there again, while also enjoying time on our deck at “Lake Frazier.” I also hope to get some flyfishing time at trout steams in Ohio and Pennsylvania (Yes, there are trout in Ohio).

Denise Clark, director of client services: Having just bought a house, I am looking forward to spending time in the yard planting and making it mine. I’m also looking forward to summer evenings around my fire pit.

Priscilla Powers, account executive: This year, I am going to India with my fiancé and his family. I have the opportunity to celebrate our engagement with his family. This is not a typical summer for me – Usually, it’s filled with relaxing somewhere at home or at the beach, working on my tan.

Andrea Bils, assistant account executive: I look forward to my family’s annual trip to Mackinac, MI, all year long. Fishing, boating, ladder ball and a range of other outdoor activities occupy our time, as do trips to the city and island for the area’s acclaimed fudge and sweets.

Michael Iles, graphic designer:
Cheesy Announcer Voice: “Congratulations, Michael, you have a 2-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter. What are you going to do now?”
Me: “We’re going to Disney World!”

Jacob Webber, design intern: I’m looking forward to baseball games, camping, hiking, riding my bike and simply being able to sit on a patio and enjoy the weather.

Brenda Smith, accounts administrator: For me, it is going to be a “girls’ vacation” to the beautiful island of Jamaica. My friends and I are staying at an all-inclusive hotel at Montego Bay for a week. We’ve been to Put-n-Bay and Cancun and can’t wait to see what we can get into at Jamaica. I’ll also be spending a lot of my free time at Buckeye Lake. The Smith family has owned a house there since the 1940s. It’s where we can all get together and have a great time swimming, boating and just relaxing by the water.
